Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Basra Corniche, head northeast along the waterfront. Enjoy the views as you walk towards the main road. Once you reach the main road (Al-Jumhuriya Street), turn right and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Al-Mahmoudiya Street. Turn left onto Al-Mahmoudiya Street and continue straight until you reach ساحة شهيد المحراب, which will be on your right. Look for the large square and the notable features such as the surrounding buildings.

    From the Basra International Hotel, exit the hotel and turn left onto Al-Jumhuriya Street. Walk straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Al-Mahmoudiya Street. Turn right onto Al-Mahmoudiya Street, and ساحة شهيد المحراب will be located a short distance ahead on your left. You should be able to see the square from the intersection.

    If you are at the Basra Museum, exit the museum and head south on Al-Sarafiyah Street. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Al-Jumhuriya Street and head towards the east. After approximately 500 meters, turn right onto Al-Mahmoudiya Street, and ساحة شهيد المحراب will be on your left side shortly after.
