From Westport, take the N59 to Achill Sound, then the R319 towards Dugort. Continue on the R319 until you reach Dugort, then turn left onto the Doogort East road. Follow the signs for Golden Strand. There is a car park at the beach. Parking is free.

Take a Bus Éireann bus from Westport to Achill Island. From the Achill Sound bus stop, you can take a taxi to Golden Strand, which costs approximately €15-€20. Alternatively, Local Link Mayo offers pre-booked, door-to-door service. Contact them at 094 900 5150 for details and bookings.
