From the Rathlin Island ferry pier at Church Bay , follow the main road south. The walk to Rue Point Lighthouse is approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) and takes around 90 minutes. The route follows a track, then crosses a field, before reaching a paved track leading to the lighthouse. Be prepared for uneven terrain and potential sheep droppings. There are no costs associated with walking to the lighthouse.

From the Rathlin Island ferry pier at Church Bay , take one of the two buses that operate from the ferry pier. These buses will take you part of the way towards Rue Point. The bus ticket costs £5 return for adults, and £3 for children (cash only). From where the bus drops you off, it is still a walk to Rue Point Lighthouse.
