Car
If you are travelling by car, start from Kilkenny city centre. Head northwest on St. Kieran's Street towards Castlecomer Road (N78). Continue on the N78 for about 10 km. You will see signs for Dunmore Cave along the way. As you approach Mohil, look for Castlecomer Road on your left. Turn left onto Castlecomer Road, and continue for approximately 1.5 km. Dunmore Cave will be on your right side. There is parking available on-site.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Kilkenny city to Castlecomer. Buses run regularly from the Kilkenny bus station. Once you arrive in Castlecomer, you will need to take a taxi or arrange for a local shuttle service to reach Dunmore Cave, as it is about 5 km away from the bus stop. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance to plan your visit accordingly.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can book a taxi from anywhere in Kilkenny to Dunmore Cave. Simply provide the driver with the address: Castlecomer Road, Mohil, Kilkenny. The taxi ride should take around 15-20 minutes from the city centre, depending on traffic. Be aware that taxi fares may vary, so it's advisable to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
