If you're driving, start by heading southwest from Westport along the N59 road towards Mulranny. Continue on the N59 until you reach the junction with the R319. Turn left onto the R319 and follow the signs for Achill Island. After crossing the bridge onto the island, continue on the R319 until you reach Dugort East. Follow local signs to 'Golden Strand Cottages', where you'll find the beach. Parking is available nearby.

To reach Golden Strand by public transport, take a bus from Westport to Achill Island. Bus Eireann operates services to the island. Once you arrive at the Achill Sound bus stop, you'll need to transfer to a local taxi service or check for local buses that go to Dugort East. In Dugort, ask the driver to drop you at 'Golden Strand Cottages', located at F28 Y206. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may vary.
