Getting there

Car

If you're driving, Knowth is approximately 10 km from Drogheda. From Drogheda, head west on the R132, then take the exit onto the R163. Follow the signs for the Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre. There is parking available at the visitor centre, and from there, you can take a shuttle bus to Knowth, which costs around €5 for a return ticket.

Public Transportation

To reach Knowth using public transport, take a bus from Dublin to Drogheda. Bus companies like Bus Éireann or Matthews Coach hire operate frequent services. Once in Drogheda, you can take a local taxi to the Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre, which is approximately 5 km away. Taxis may cost around €10-€15. From the visitor centre, take the shuttle bus to Knowth.

Walking from Visitor Centre

If you prefer to walk from the Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre to Knowth, it's a scenic 2 km walk along well-marked paths. It takes approximately 30 minutes to reach Knowth on foot. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and check the weather before you set out.
