If you are driving, head towards Roosky, County Monaghan. From Monaghan town, take the N2 road heading south. After about 10 km, take the exit towards the R183. Continue on the R183 for approximately 8 km until you reach the junction with the R188. Turn left onto the R188. Follow the R188 for about 5 km, then turn right onto a local road leading to Lake, Patena. The lake will be on your left, and there is parking available nearby. Please note that there may be a small fee for parking.
Public Transportation
To reach Peter's Lake using public transport, start from Monaghan town centre. Take a bus from Monaghan Bus Station that heads towards Roosky. This route may involve changing buses, so check the local bus schedule for connections to ensure a smooth journey. Once you arrive in Roosky, it's about a 20-minute walk to Peter's Lake. Follow the local roads towards Lake, Patena, and keep an eye out for signs directing you to the lake. Ensure you have cash on hand, as some bus services may not accept card payments.
