If you're starting from Eyre Square, head northwest towards the pedestrian street, Shop Street. Continue walking until you reach Quay Street, then turn right. Follow Quay Street to the end, where it meets the River Corrib. Turn left and walk along the riverbank, enjoying the views. Continue until you reach the Salmon Weir Bridge. Cross the bridge and head straight, following the path along the river. After a short walk, you'll see a sign for Eglinton Canal. Follow the path that leads towards the canal.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in the city center. Start from Eyre Square and head towards the River Corrib on Dominick Street. Follow the cycle path along the river, passing through the park area. Continue cycling until you reach the Salmon Weir Bridge, where you will cross the bridge. After crossing, stay on the cycle path that runs parallel to the canal, which will lead you directly to Eglinton Canal.
