From the city center, head towards Eyre Square. Once you reach the square, take the exit towards Shop Street. Continue walking straight until you reach the Spanish Arch. From the Spanish Arch, turn left onto Quay Street and follow it until you reach the river. Cross over the bridge (O'Briens Bridge) and turn left along the riverbank. Continue walking along the river until you reach the Eglington Canal, which will be on your right. The canal is easily recognizable, and you can enjoy a scenic walk along its banks.

From the Eyre Square bus stop, take bus number 404 towards Salthill. Stay on the bus for approximately 15 minutes. Get off at the stop called 'Salthill' near the promenade. From the bus stop, head east towards the water, and you will find the Eglington Canal just a short walk away along the waterfront. Follow the path along the canal for a pleasant stroll.
