From Glendalough, head south on the R756. After approximately 4.5 km, turn right onto the R747 towards Coolkenno. Continue on R747 for about 5 km. Look for signs to Rathgall Hillfort and turn left onto Rath East Road. The hillfort is located approximately 1 km down this road. Parking is available near the entrance.

From Glendalough, take the bus (Route 183) towards Rathdrum. Get off at the stop called Coolkenno Cross. From there, you will need to walk approximately 2.5 km down the R747 until you reach Rath East Road. Turn left onto Rath East Road, and you will find Rathgall Hillfort about 1 km further down the road. Note that bus schedules may vary, so check the local timetable for exact times.
