Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the Killarney town center. Head southwest on Main Street (N71) and continue to follow the signs for the N71. After approximately 2 kilometers, turn right onto Ross Road (R561). Continue for about 1 kilometer until you reach the entrance to Ross Castle, which will be on your left. There is parking available nearby, but be aware that there may be a parking fee during peak tourist seasons.
Public Transport
To reach Ross Castle via public transportation, take the Killarney Shuttle Bus service from Killarney Town. The bus typically departs from the Killarney bus station. Check the schedule in advance, as the frequency may vary. The bus will take you to a stop near Ross Castle. Once you disembark, follow the signs directing you to Ross Castle, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.
Walking
If you are already within Killarney National Park, you can walk to Ross Castle. From the Visitor Center, follow the walking path towards the lake. The scenic route will take approximately 30 minutes. Keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Ross Castle as you walk along the well-marked trails. This is a beautiful way to experience the natural beauty of the park.
