Getting There

Car
If you are driving, start from Newcastle, County Down. Head southwest on the A2 towards the Mourne Mountains. After approximately 3 miles, turn onto the B180 at the sign for the Mourne Mountains. Continue following the B180 for about 2 miles until you reach the Mourne Mountain car park at the base of the mountains. From there, follow the well-marked trail signs towards Hare's Gap. The hike will take about 1-1.5 hours, depending on your pace.
