If you are in the center of Sligo, start at O'Connell Street. Head south towards the River Garavogue. Cross the river using the bridge and continue straight onto Quay Street. Follow Quay Street until you reach the junction with Markievicz Road. Turn left onto Markievicz Road and follow it until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the N4. Continue on the N4 for about 1 kilometer. You will see signs for Rathedmond. Follow the signs and turn left onto Rathedmond Road. Continue straight for about 500 meters, and you will see the Famine Memorial on your right, located in a small park area.

From the central bus station in Sligo, take bus number 388 towards Ballaghaderreen. Inform the driver that you are going to Rathedmond. The bus will take you to the stop nearest to the Famine Memorial. Once you get off the bus at Rathedmond stop, walk along Rathedmond Road, and you will see the memorial a short distance ahead on your left.
