If you are traveling by car, start from the center of The Burren, such as from the town of Lisdoonvarna. Head northwest on the N67 road towards Ballyvaughan. After approximately 18 km, you will reach the village of Ballyvaughan. Continue straight through the village, following signs for 'Ballyvaughan Pier'. After you pass the Aille River, look for a sign directing you left towards the pier. The pier is located at Lisnanard, Co. Clare, and there is parking available nearby.
Public Transportation
To reach Ballyvaughan Pier by public transportation, take a bus from Ennis or Galway to Ballyvaughan. Bus Eireann operates services to Ballyvaughan. Once you arrive in Ballyvaughan village, you can either walk to the pier (approximately a 15-minute walk) or take a local taxi if available. To walk, head southwest on the main street, passing through the village until you reach the Aille River. Cross the river and follow the signs towards 'Ballyvaughan Pier'. The pier is located at Lisnanard, Co. Clare.
