Car
If you're traveling by car, start on the N11 road from Dublin heading south. After about 40 km, take the exit for the R755 towards Glendalough. Follow the R755 for approximately 10 km until you reach the village of Laragh. From Laragh, continue on the R755 for another 3 km, then turn right onto a smaller road leading towards Stoney Top Mountain. There is limited parking available near the trailhead, so be sure to arrive early to secure your spot.
Public Transport
To reach Stoney Top Mountain via public transport, take a bus from Dublin to the town of Wicklow. Bus companies like Dublin Bus or Bus Éireann operate routes to Wicklow. From Wicklow, transfer to a local bus heading to Laragh. Once in Laragh, you can either walk or take a taxi to the trailhead leading to Stoney Top Mountain, which is about 3 km away from the village center. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary, and prepare for some walking.
Walking
If you are already in Laragh and prefer to walk, you can start from the village center. Head north on the R755 road and follow the signs for Stoney Top Mountain. The walk is approximately 3 km and takes you through beautiful scenery, but be prepared for steep terrain as you approach the mountain. Make sure to wear proper hiking boots and carry water.
