Walking
Start from the Douglas Promenade, which runs along the seafront. Walk north along the promenade until you reach the end where it intersects with Victoria Street. Turn left onto Victoria Street and continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A5 (also known as the Peel Road). Continue on A5, which will eventually lead you towards the northern part of the island. Keep walking until you reach the bus stop for the 'Peel' or 'Laxey' buses, which will take you closer to The Ayres National Nature Reserve. Make sure to check the bus schedules for the next available bus, as they may not run frequently.

Bus
From the Douglas bus station, which is located near the central area of Douglas, take the bus to 'The Ayres' or 'Peel'. The bus service is quite regular, but it’s best to check the latest timetable. Once you board the bus, inform the driver that you are going to The Ayres National Nature Reserve. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the bus stop near The Ayres, follow the signs or local maps that indicate the entrance to the nature reserve.

Cycling
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Douglas. Once you have your bike, head towards the promenade and cycle north along the coast. You will need to follow the A5 route. Make sure to follow the cycle paths where available. The ride to The Ayres National Nature Reserve should take around 20-30 minutes, depending on your cycling speed. Look for signs indicating the reserve as you approach the northern part of the island.
