Getting There

  • Car

    Start your journey in Glen Maye and head east on the A2 road. Continue straight for about 5.5 miles until you reach the roundabout near Castletown. Take the second exit onto the A27, following signs for Castletown. Keep on this road, which will lead you directly into the town. Once in Castletown, turn left onto Castle Street, where you will find Castle Rushen on your left. There is parking available nearby; please be aware that there may be parking fees depending on the duration of your stay.

  • Public Transport

    From Glen Maye, you can take the bus service operated by Bus Vannin. Board the number 1 or 1A bus towards Douglas. After approximately 25 minutes, alight at the Castletown stop. From there, it is a short 10-minute walk to Castle Rushen. Head north on the A27 and then turn left onto Castle Street, where the castle is located.   • Walking

    If you prefer to walk and are starting your journey from a location within Glen Maye, follow the coastal path towards the south. This scenic route takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Ensure you wear comfortable walking shoes, as the path can be uneven in places.
