Getting There

    From the center of Onchan, walk to the nearest bus stop on Main Road. Take the bus number 3 or 3A towards Ramsey. Stay on the bus for approximately 25 minutes. Get off at the stop named 'The Ayres' which is clearly marked. From the bus stop, it is a short walk of about 5 minutes to the entrance of The Ayres National Nature Reserve.

    If you prefer to walk, start from Onchan Village and head north along Main Road towards the coast. Continue straight for about 2 miles (3.2 km) until you reach the junction with the A10. Turn left onto the A10 and follow it for another mile (1.6 km). You’ll see signs for The Ayres National Nature Reserve along the way. The walk will take approximately 45-60 minutes, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.

  • Cycle

    If you have a bicycle, you can cycle from Onchan to The Ayres National Nature Reserve. Begin at Onchan Village, heading north along the A2 road towards the coast. After about 2 miles (3.2 km), take the A10 road heading north. Follow this road for approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) until you see the entrance to The Ayres on your right. This journey should take around 20-30 minutes depending on your cycling speed.
