Getting There

  • Walking

    Starting from the center of Ramsey, make your way towards the marina. Head northeast along the waterfront until you reach the end of the promenade. Continue straight to the junction with the A9 road (also known as the 'Northern Road'). Cross the road carefully and follow the A9 heading north. You will pass through the outskirts of Ramsey and eventually reach the village of Ballaugh. At Ballaugh, follow the signs for 'Point of Ayre' which will guide you onto the A10 road (the coast road). Proceed along the A10, enjoying the scenic views of the coast. When you arrive at the turn-off for Point of Ayre, take the road leading to the lighthouse. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours on foot, depending on your pace.

    If you have access to a bicycle, start from the center of Ramsey and ride towards the marina. Follow the same route as the walking directions, heading northeast along the waterfront, then proceed to the A9 road. Once you reach the A9, turn left and cycle north. This route will take you through the picturesque countryside, and you'll need to turn onto the A10 coast road towards Point of Ayre. Cycling will be much quicker, and you can expect to reach your destination in about 30-45 minutes, depending on your cycling speed.
