Getting There

  • Walking

    From Ramsey, head south on Parliament Street and continue onto the A3 road, following the signs towards Laxey. After approximately 1.5 miles, you will reach the junction with the A2 road. Turn right onto A2 and continue for about 2 miles until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto the A18 road towards the north. Continue on this road for around 3 miles until you reach the junction with the A16 road. Turn left onto A16, and follow the signs for Point of Ayre Lighthouse. It is approximately a 1 mile walk from this point along the coastal path to reach the lighthouse.

    If you're cycling, start at Ramsey town center and head south on Parliament Street. As you reach the junction with the A3, turn right and follow the A3 towards Laxey. Continue for about 1.5 miles. At the junction with the A2, turn right and cycle for another 2 miles until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto the A18 and cycle for about 3 miles. When you reach the junction with the A16, turn left and follow it for around 1 mile to the lighthouse. The route is relatively flat and scenic, making it a pleasant ride.

    From Ramsey, you can take the bus service towards Laxey. Board the bus at the Ramsey bus station and ride for about 20 minutes until you reach the Laxey stop. From Laxey, transfer to the bus service that goes towards the Point of Ayre. The bus will take you close to the lighthouse, but you may need to walk the last mile along the A16 road.
