Car
If you are driving, start from The Sound area. Head north on the A5 road. Follow the signs towards Douglas, passing through the scenic countryside. After about 20 minutes, you will reach the outskirts of Douglas. Continue straight onto the A1 road, which will lead you towards Douglas Promenade. Look for signs leading to St Mary's Isle and the Tower of Refuge. As you approach the waterfront, look for parking options near Douglas Bay. There may be parking fees, so keep change or a card ready.

Public Transport - Bus
From The Sound, you can take the bus service (Bus number 1 or 2) towards Douglas. Make sure to check the schedule as buses may not run frequently. After a short ride of about 30 minutes, get off at the 'Douglas Bus Station.' From there, it’s a 10-15 minute walk towards the waterfront. Walk down to the promenade and follow the signs to St Mary's Isle. This area is pedestrian-friendly, and you will eventually reach the Tower of Refuge.

If you prefer to walk from The Sound, head north along the coast road. The walk will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, offering beautiful views of the coastline. Follow the A5 road, then turn onto the A1 when you reach the outskirts of Douglas. Continue walking until you reach Douglas Promenade. From there, head towards St Mary's Isle, where the Tower of Refuge is located. This is a scenic route, so enjoy the views along the way!
