History of Herzliya Pituach

From Herzliya’s Founding to the Coast

Herzliya was founded in 1924 as a Jewish agricultural settlement named after Theodor Herzl, and its early development was centred inland rather than along the open coast. The western area remained comparatively undeveloped for decades, shaped by dunes, agricultural land and the shoreline.
