Pater Noster Church: A Serene Pilgrimage Site in Jerusalem

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Old City of Jerusalem, head towards the Lions' Gate (Sha'ar HaArayot). From there, exit the Old City and walk straight along the street until you reach the intersection with Sultan Suleiman Street. Turn left onto Sultan Suleiman Street and continue walking until you reach the junction with Hatzvi Street. Turn right onto Hatzvi Street, which will lead you to the Mount of Olives area. Continue walking uphill; you will see the Pater Noster Church sign along the way. The church is located on the Mount of Olives and is approximately a 20-minute walk from the Old City.

• Public Transport

  From the Old City, walk to the nearest bus stop at City Hall (Merkez Shuk). Take bus number 75 or 99, which heads towards the Mount of Olives. The buses are frequent and should arrive every 10-15 minutes. Get off at the Pater Noster Church stop, which is clearly marked. From the bus stop, it is a short 5-minute walk uphill to the church entrance.

• Walking

  If you are near the Garden of Gethsemane, walk up towards the Mount of Olives. Follow the path leading from the garden, and as you ascend, you will see Pater Noster Church on your left. This route takes approximately 15 minutes of walking but be prepared for a steep incline.
