From the parking area, follow the marked hiking trail towards Rifugio Lavarella, which is approximately a 1.5-hour hike uphill.

To reach Rifugio Lavarella using public transportation, take a train to the nearest major train station, which is Brunico. From Brunico, take a local bus towards Mareo. Alight at the Mareo stop. From there, you can either walk to the parking area near Alpe di Fanes or take a taxi if you prefer not to hike. The bus fare from Brunico to Mareo is around €3. Once at the parking area, follow the marked trail to Rifugio Lavarella, which is approximately a 1.5-hour hike.
