Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Arezzo, head towards the Arezzo Train Station (Stazione di Arezzo). You can walk straight down Corso Italia until you reach Piazza della Libertà. From there, turn left onto Viale Roma. Continue walking straight along Viale Roma until you reach the train station. Once at the station, take a train to Siena. The train ride will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Siena Train Station, exit the station and head towards the bus terminal located just outside. Take bus number 3, which will take you directly to Piazza Caduti delle Forze Armate. The bus ride will take around 15-20 minutes. Once you get off, you will see the Fortezza Medicea ahead of you.

• Bus

  From Arezzo, head to the main bus station located at Piazza della Libertà. Look for the bus that goes to Siena; the ticket can be purchased at the ticket office or from a vending machine at the station. The bus ride to Siena takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Upon arriving at Siena's bus terminal, it is a short walk to Piazza Caduti delle Forze Armate. Head straight along Via Cavour, and then turn right onto Via della Sapienza. Continue straight until you reach the square where the Fortezza Medicea is located.

• Train

  To reach Fortezza Medicea, start at Arezzo Train Station and take a train to Siena. The trains run regularly, and you can check the schedule online or at the station. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Siena Station, exit the station and follow the signs to the bus terminal. Take bus number 3 which will bring you close to Piazza Caduti delle Forze Armate. After getting off the bus, the Fortezza Medicea will be within walking distance.
