Getting There

• Bus

  From Assisi, head to the main bus station located near Piazza Matteotti. Take the bus to Spoleto, which is approximately a 30-minute ride. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for departure times. Once you arrive in Spoleto, transfer to the bus heading towards Campello sul Clitunno. The total travel time should be around an hour. Get off at the stop closest to Via Flaminia and walk to Fonti del Clitunno, which is about a 10-minute walk.

• Train and Bus

  From Assisi, walk to the Assisi train station (Stazione di Assisi) which is about a 20-minute walk from the city center. Take a train towards Foligno. The train ride is about 15 minutes. Once you arrive in Foligno, exit the train station and look for the bus terminal. Board the bus to Campello sul Clitunno. The bus ride will take around 20-25 minutes. After arriving in Campello sul Clitunno, Fonti del Clitunno is a short walk from the bus stop.

• Walking

  If you enjoy walking and are up for an adventure, you can hike from Assisi to Fonti del Clitunno. The distance is about 14 kilometers (approximately 8.7 miles) and will take around 3-4 hours. Start your hike from the center of Assisi, heading towards the area near the Basilica di San Francesco, then follow the signs directing you to the countryside. Make sure to carry water and snacks, and wear comfortable shoes as the terrain can be uneven.

• Bicycle Rental

  You can rent a bicycle from one of the shops in Assisi. Once you have your bike, head towards the road leading to Spello. Follow the signs for the local bike paths that connect to Campello sul Clitunno. The cycling distance is about 14 kilometers and will take you approximately 1-1.5 hours. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way, and be cautious on the road. Once you arrive in Campello sul Clitunno, look for signs to Fonti del Clitunno, which is nearby.
