Walking
Start at the main square in Bologna, Piazza Maggiore. From there, head east on Via Rizzoli until you reach Via Indipendenza. Turn left onto Via Indipendenza and walk straight until you reach the intersection with Via dell'Indipendenza. Continue straight until you reach Piazza XX Settembre. Scalinata del Pincio will be located at the eastern edge of the square, easily recognizable by its grand staircase leading up to the gardens.
Public Transport (Bus)
If you're closer to the Bologna Central Train Station, catch bus number 32 or 36 from the station. Alight at the 'Piazza XX Settembre' stop. From there, you can see the Scalinata del Pincio directly in front of you. Just walk towards the staircase which leads to the beautiful gardens above.
Walking
If you are near the University of Bologna, head towards Via Zamboni and walk towards Piazza Verdi. From Piazza Verdi, take Via dei Mille towards Piazza XX Settembre. The Scalinata del Pincio is located at the end of the square, where you will see the large staircase leading up. It's a short walk and offers a great opportunity to explore the university area.
