If you are starting from the central train station (Stazione di Bologna Centrale), exit the station and head southwest on Via Indipendenza. Continue straight for about 1.2 kilometers until you reach the intersection with P.za XX Settembre. The square will be on your left. You will pass by various shops and cafes along the way, making it a pleasant walk.

From the central train station (Stazione di Bologna Centrale), head to the bus terminal located just outside the station. Take bus number 32 or 33 towards 'Fossolo' or 'Corticella' respectively. Get off at the stop named 'Piazza XX Settembre'. The square is a short walk from the bus stop, and you will see the landmarks of the square right away.
