Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Central Station (Stazione Centrale di Bologna), exit the station and head towards Via Indipendenza. Walk straight along Via Indipendenza for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach Piazza Maggiore. Once at Piazza Maggiore, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and then head towards Via Rizzoli. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Via dell'Archiginnasio. Here, turn left onto Via dell'Archiginnasio, which leads directly to the University of Bologna's historic buildings. After exploring, walk back to Piazza Maggiore and head towards the left side of the square where you’ll find Via Ugo Bassi. Follow this street until it becomes Via Monte Grappa. Keep walking straight until you reach the entrance to Scalinata del Pincio, which is located at P.za XX Settembre.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  From the Central Station (Stazione Centrale di Bologna), you can take the bus number 35 or 36 from the bus stop located just outside the station. The bus ride will take approximately 10 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Piazza XX Settembre'. Upon disembarking, you will be just a short walk from Scalinata del Pincio. Head towards the square, and you will see the entrance to the steps leading to Scalinata del Pincio right in front of you.

• Walking from the City Center

  If you are already in the city center, you can walk to Scalinata del Pincio. Start at Piazza Maggiore and walk towards Via Rizzoli. Continue along this street until you reach the intersection with Via dell'Archiginnasio, where you will turn left. Follow this street until you reach the end, and then turn right onto Via Monte Grappa. Continue straight until you arrive at P.za XX Settembre, where Scalinata del Pincio is located. The entrance to the stairs is easily visible from the square.
