Park your car in the designated parking areas near the cable car station (note that parking fees may apply). From the cable car station, take the 'Cretaz' cable car up to the Plan Maison station. After arriving at Plan Maison, you will need to take a short hike towards the Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi, which is approximately a 30-minute walk along marked trails.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a bus to Cervinia from major nearby cities like Aosta or Turin. Once you arrive in Cervinia, walk towards the cable car station 'Cretaz'. Purchase a ticket for the 'Cretaz' cable car (costs approximately €10-€15 for a round trip). After reaching the Plan Maison station via the cable car, embark on a 30-minute hike towards the Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi, following the clearly marked hiking trails.
Hiking
For those who prefer hiking from Cervinia, start from the town center and follow the trail signs towards 'Plan Maison'. This route is approximately 1.5 hours long and offers scenic views, but be prepared for a moderate level of difficulty. Once you reach Plan Maison, continue on foot for another 30 minutes to the Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi.
