Car
If you are driving from Courmayeur to Monte Belvedere, start by heading east on Strada Statale 26 (SS26) from Courmayeur. Follow the signs for La Thuile. After approximately 20 km, you will reach La Thuile. From La Thuile, continue on the SS26 and look for signs towards Monte Belvedere. There are parking areas near the base where you can leave your car. Please note that parking may incur a fee, typically around €5-€10 depending on the season.
Public Transportation
To reach Monte Belvedere using public transport, take the local bus from Courmayeur to La Thuile. Buses run regularly, and you can check the current schedule at the Courmayeur bus station. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in La Thuile, you will need to walk to the base of Monte Belvedere, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. Ensure you check bus schedules for the return trip, as services may be limited in the evening.
Hiking
For those who are more adventurous, after arriving in La Thuile, you can hike to Monte Belvedere. There are marked trails that lead you from the town center to the summit. The hike takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear proper hiking shoes and bring water and snacks. This option is free, but be prepared for the physical exertion involved.
