If you are at the Santa Maria Novella train station, exit the station and head southeast towards Via Nazionale. Continue on Via Nazionale until you reach Piazza della Repubblica. From there, follow Via degli Strozzi until you reach the Arno River. Turn left and walk along the river for about 15 minutes to reach the Ponte alla Carraia.
