Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards Udine. The castle is located at P.le della Patria del Friuli, 1, 33100 Udine UD. Follow signs for 'Centro' as you approach the city. Once in the city, look for parking options nearby; there are several public parking lots within walking distance to the castle. Expect to pay a fee for parking, which ranges from €1 to €2 per hour. After parking, walk to the castle, which is about a 10-minute stroll from most parking areas.

• Train

  If you're coming from another city in Friuli Venezia Giulia, take a train to Udine. The main train station is 'Udine Stazione'. From the station, exit and head towards the bus terminal or walk to the castle. Walking will take approximately 20 minutes. If you prefer public transport, take bus line 8 or 9 towards 'Centro' and get off at 'P.le della Libertà.' From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to the castle. Train tickets usually cost around €5-€10 depending on your departure city.

• Bus

  If you're in a nearby town, check the local bus services that connect to Udine. Look for buses heading to 'Udine' or 'Centro Storico'. Once you arrive at the main bus station in Udine, you can either walk to the castle (approximately 15 minutes) or take a local bus (lines 8 or 9) that will take you to 'P.le della Libertà', from where it’s a short walk to the castle. Bus fares typically range from €1.50 to €3.

• Walking

  If you find yourself in the historic center of Udine, Udine Castle is easily accessible on foot. From the main square, 'Piazza della Libertà', head towards Via Mercatovecchio and continue straight; you will see signs for the castle. It's about a 15-minute walk and offers a great opportunity to explore the beautiful streets of Udine.
