Walking
If you are in the city center of Genoa, make your way to Piazza De Ferrari. From there, head towards Via XX Settembre and walk straight until you reach the end of the street. You will come to a large intersection known as Porta dei Vacca. At this intersection, continue onto Via Garibaldi, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its stunning palaces. Follow Via Garibaldi until it intersects with Salita di Santa Caterina. Turn right onto Salita di Santa Caterina and continue walking uphill. You will soon arrive at Spianata Castelletto, where Belvedere Luigi Montaldo is located. The viewpoint offers a spectacular panoramic view of the city and the harbor.
Public Transport (Funicular)
From the city center, make your way to the nearest Metro station, which is De Ferrari. Take the Metro Line 1 towards Brin and get off at the next stop, which is Darsena. Look for the signs to the funicular 'Funicolare Zecca-Righi.' Board the funicular and enjoy a scenic ride uphill. After about 10 minutes, you will arrive at the Righi station. From there, follow the signs indicating 'Belvedere Castelletto.' It's a short walk downhill to Spianata Castelletto, where you can enjoy the breathtaking views.
Public Transport (Bus)
If you prefer to take the bus, head to Piazza De Ferrari and find the bus stop. Look for bus number 36 or 37, both of which go towards Righi. Board the bus and enjoy the ride, which takes about 20 minutes. Get off at the 'Righi' stop. From the bus stop, follow the signs to Spianata Castelletto. It's a pleasant walk of about 10 minutes to the viewpoint where Belvedere Luigi Montaldo is located.
