Walking
From the center of Herculaneum, head east on Corso Resina towards Piazza della Repubblica. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via Roma. Turn left onto Via Roma and walk for about 10 minutes. You will pass several shops and cafes along the way. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to the train station, as you will need to take a train to Caserta. Once you reach the Herculaneum Scavi train station, purchase a ticket for Caserta (trains run regularly). The train ride will take approximately 30 minutes. After arriving at Caserta station, exit and walk straight towards Corso Trieste. From there, head northwest until you reach Piazza Carlo di Borbone, where the Royal Palace of Caserta is located.

From Herculaneum, walk to the Herculaneum Scavi train station (about 15 minutes from the center of town). Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Caserta. Board the train heading towards Napoli Centrale and get off at Caserta station. The train ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Caserta, exit the station and walk northwest towards Corso Trieste. Continue walking until you reach Piazza Carlo di Borbone, where the Royal Palace of Caserta is located. You can also use local buses available at the train station if you prefer not to walk.
