Rivetto Winery: A Biodynamic Oasis in the Langhe

Azienda Agricola Rivetto, a four-generation family business, stands as a beacon of sustainable winemaking in the heart of Piedmont's Langhe region. Founded in 1902, the winery is located on a picturesque hill between Serralunga d'Alba and Sinio, offering stunning views of the surrounding vineyards and the Serralunga D'Alba castle. Enrico Rivetto, the current winemaker, passionately upholds the family's legacy by embracing organic and biodynamic farming methods. Rivetto's commitment to sustainability extends beyond the vineyards, with the estate incorporating ancient grains, aromatic herbs, and over a thousand trees to promote biodiversity and create a balanced ecosystem. The winery was the first in the Barolo and Barbaresco zones to be Demeter-certified biodynamic in 2016. Rivetto produces a diverse range of wines, with a focus on native Piedmontese varietals. Their portfolio includes Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera d'Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, and Dolcetto d'Alba, each expressing the unique characteristics of the terroir. Rivetto is also known for its Nascetta, a rare and nearly extinct indigenous white grape, which they helped revive.
