Walking
From the Lucca train station, exit and walk straight ahead along Viale Camillo Benso Cavour, which turns into Via Vittorio Veneto. Continue straight through Porta San Pietro, one of the main entrances to the walled city. Follow Via Fillungo, the main shopping street, for about 500m. Piazza Napoleone will be on your right. The walk is approximately 10 minutes. No costs involved.
Public Transport
From the bus station at Piazzale Verdi , walk east towards the city walls. Enter through Porta Sant'Anna. Follow Via Vittorio Emanuele II to Piazza Napoleone. Several bus lines connect Piazzale Verdi to other parts of Lucca, but the square is only a short walk away. Bus tickets cost around €1.50.
