Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the Lucca City Walls, exit through the nearest gate (Porta San Pietro is a good option). Once you're outside the walls, head straight down Via San Pietro for about 300 meters until you reach the intersection with Via Fillungo. Turn left onto Via Fillungo and continue walking for approximately 400 meters. You will pass several shops and cafes. At the end of Via Fillungo, turn right onto Via Santa Croce and walk for another 150 meters. Continue straight, and you will see Piazza del Salvatore on your left. The square is easily recognizable and is a great spot to enjoy the local atmosphere.

    From the Duomo di Lucca (the Cathedral of San Martino), exit the cathedral and walk towards Piazza San Martino. From Piazza San Martino, take Via Vittorio Emanuele, which is located at the corner of the piazza. Walk straight down this street until you reach Piazza del Salvatore, which will be on your right after about 200 meters. This route is direct and allows you to enjoy some of the beautiful architecture along the way.

    If you are near the Lucca Railway Station, exit the station and head towards the city center on Via Giuseppe Mazzini. Walk straight for about 800 meters until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Viale Carlo del Prete. Continue walking until you see the old city walls. Enter the city through Porta San Jacopo. After entering, walk down Via del Fosso and then take a left onto Via Santa Croce. Continue straight until you reach Piazza del Salvatore, which will be on your left. This route takes you through the main streets leading into the heart of Lucca.
