From Lucca's city center, head towards the main square, Piazza dell'Anfiteatro. Exit the square and take Via Fillungo, heading south. Continue straight until you reach the city walls. Once you arrive at the walls, turn left and follow the path along the walls, which will eventually lead you to the train station. From there, take a train to Livorno. Once you arrive in Livorno, follow the signs to the city center. Walk towards Piazza San Simone, which is about a 15-minute walk from the station. You can ask locals for directions if needed.
Train
Start at Lucca Railway Station, located just outside the city walls. Purchase a ticket to Livorno, which should take around 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Livorno station, exit the station and follow Via della Libertà straight until you reach the waterfront. From there, continue walking towards the city center, following the signs to Piazza San Simone. The square is a short walk from the waterfront, approximately 10-15 minutes.
Bicycle
If you're renting a bicycle, exit Lucca through the Porta San Pietro and follow the bike path that leads in the direction of Livorno. The ride is approximately 20 kilometers and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Make sure to follow the signs along the route, and enjoy the scenic views as you approach Livorno. Once you arrive in Livorno, park your bike and walk towards Piazza San Simone, which is located in the city center.
