Train
From Milan, head to Milano Centrale train station. Take a train towards Como S. Giovanni. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Como, exit the station and take a bus (Line C30) towards Laglio. Get off at the stop for Laglio. From the bus stop, you can either walk or take a taxi to Monte Colmegnone, which is about a 30-minute hike uphill.
Bus
You can take the bus from Milan to Laglio directly. Start at the Milan Lampugnano bus terminal. Look for a bus that goes towards Como. Once you reach the Como bus station, transfer to a local bus that heads to Laglio. After arriving in Laglio, you will need to walk approximately 3 kilometers to reach Monte Colmegnone. The trail starts at the main road and is marked with signs.
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer a more direct approach, you can use a taxi or rideshare service from your location in Milan to Monte Colmegnone. Request a ride to 'Monte Colmegnone, Laglio' and the driver will take you as close as possible to the base of the mountain. Note that there may be some walking involved to reach the peak.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, consider renting a bicycle in Milan. Head towards the lakeside path that leads to Como. The ride is approximately 40 kilometers and will take around 2-3 hours, depending on your pace. Once in Como, you can switch to the bus to Laglio. From there, hike up to Monte Colmegnone.
