Discover more about Lungolago di Baveno

The Lungolago di Baveno, or Baveno's lakeside promenade, extends from the town's pier to the historic center of Molino di Ripa, near the beautiful Villa Henfrey Branca. This more than 1.4-kilometer-long walkway embraces the Borromean Gulf, offering views as far as Laveno. The promenade is lined with trees and flower beds, featuring wide avenues, fountains, and even a small arena and playground. Benches and café tables invite visitors to relax and soak up the sun. In the evenings, the promenade is illuminated, creating a romantic atmosphere for moonlit walks. The first section of the promenade, located in front of Villa Branca, was donated to the Pro Loco of Baveno in 1906 by Maria Branca. A tree planted by Queen Victoria in 1879, when she stayed as a guest of the Henfrey family, can also be found in this area. The construction of the embankment began in 1913 but was not completed until 1921 due to the war. A renovation project, financed by European funds, was carried out in the late 1990s. Baveno itself is a town rich in history and culture. In the 19th century, the development of communication routes transformed Baveno into a popular destination. Today, Baveno is known for its proximity to the Borromean Islands and its beautiful pink granite.
