Located in the hilly Vomero district of Naples, Teatro Diana has been a prominent venue for theater and cinema since its establishment in 1933. The theater was inaugurated on March 16, 1933, in the presence of Prince Umberto di Savoia and numerous city authorities. The evening featured a variety show and the first screening in Naples of Walt Disney's cartoon “Il Re Nettuno”.
Throughout its history, Teatro Diana has hosted a wide array of performances, marking significant moments in Italian entertainment. In 1944, it was the site of the final separation between brothers Eduardo and Peppino De Filippo. In 1951, Totò's famous song “Malafemmina” was presented for the first time at the Piedigrotta auditions, winning first prize. The theater has also seen performances by renowned artists such as Marcello Mastroianni and Dario Fo.
The theater's structure has faced challenges over the years, including damage from bombings in 1945 and a fire in 1973, but it has been restored and continues to operate.
