Getting There

Funicular
From the central area of Naples, head to the Montesanto Funicular station. You can reach it by walking to Piazza Montesanto, which is about a 10-minute walk from Via Toledo or the Spanish Quarters. Take the Funicular from Montesanto to the top station, which is 'Morghen'. This ride takes approximately 5 minutes and offers beautiful views of the city. Once you exit the funicular, turn right onto Via Tito Angelini and walk for about 10 minutes until you reach Castel Sant'Elmo.

You can take the R5 bus from the city center. Board the bus at the nearest bus stop, such as 'Piazza Garibaldi'. Make sure you validate your ticket before boarding. Stay on the bus for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the stop 'Tito Angelini'. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk uphill to Castel Sant'Elmo. Look for the signs directing you to the castle.

If you prefer to walk, start from Piazza del Plebiscito, which is a central landmark in Naples. Head north along Via Chiaia until you reach the intersection with Via Toledo. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Via Monte di Dio, then turn left. After a short distance, turn right onto Via Tito Angelini. The walk will take approximately 30 minutes, and it provides a chance to see various shops and cafes along the way, though it is uphill as you approach the castle.
