    Getting There

    Train

    From Napoli Centrale train station, take the Circumvesuviana train towards Sorrento. Make sure to buy a ticket at the station before boarding. Stay on the train for about 30 minutes and get off at Ercolano Scavi station. Once you exit the station, turn left and walk for about 10 minutes following the signs towards Vesuvio. You will see the entrance to the national park.

    Bus

    From the central area of Naples, head to the Piazza Garibaldi and look for the EAV bus service. Take bus number 1 or 2 that goes towards Ercolano. The ride will take approximately 40 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Ercolano - Vesuvio' and follow the signs that lead to the entrance of the Vesuvio National Park.

    Metro and Bus

    Take the Metro Line 1 from any central station in Naples towards Garibaldi. Get off at Garibaldi Station and transfer to the Circumvesuviana train towards Sorrento. Ride for about 30 minutes to Ercolano Scavi station. From there, catch a local bus or taxi that takes you up to Vesuvio, or walk for about 10 minutes following the signs.
