From Palermo city center, take the line 806 bus towards Mondello. The bus departs from Liberta' Ugdulena and arrives at Nodo Teti, with services running every 15 minutes. The journey takes approximately 31 minutes and costs around €2. From Nodo Teti, it's a moderate walk to the entrance of Monte Gallo.
Taxi
A taxi from Palermo city center to Monte Gallo takes approximately 15 minutes, depending on traffic. The estimated cost is between €24 and €29. Taxis can drop you off at Via del Semaforo, the road leading to the hiking trails. Be aware that the upper sections of Via del Semaforo are rough, and taxi drivers may prefer to drop you off at the start of the road.
Driving
Driving from Palermo to Monte Gallo takes around 15 minutes. The driving distance is approximately 11 km. Be aware that Via del Semaforo, the road leading to the trails, deteriorates as you ascend. Parking is available near the start of Via del Semaforo, with limited spots further up the road. Expect to pay a few euros for parking near the trailhead. Unavoidable tolls are not applicable on the immediate final approach.
Walking
Walking from Mondello Beach to Ingresso Riserva Marinella or Ingresso Riserva Barcello, entrances to Capo Gallo Nature Reserve, takes approximately 15-25 minutes. From there, follow the trails towards Monte Gallo. Note that Ingresso Riserva Marinella is a private entrance with specific opening hours.
