    Palazzo Asmundo is located in the heart of Palermo, near the Palermo Cathedral. From Quattro Canti, walk east along Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Turn right onto Via Pietro Novelli. The Palazzo Asmundo will be on your left. Walking is the best way to explore the historic center. The Free Centro Storico shuttle bus also operates in the area. A single ticket for buses, trams, and the metro is available and provides unlimited travel within the urban area for €5.50 per day.

    From Palermo Centrale train station, take the bus to the 'Piazza Don Sturzo' stop. From Piazza Don Sturzo, walk towards Via Roma and continue straight until you reach Via Pietro Novelli. Turn left onto Via Pietro Novelli and you will find Palazzo Asmundo at number 3. A single bus/tram ticket costs €1.40 and is valid for 90 minutes. You can purchase tickets at AMAT kiosks, tobacconists, or newsagents. A day ticket costs €5.50.

Palazzo Asmundo, located on Via Pietro Novelli, stands as a testament to Palermo's rich history and aristocratic grandeur. Construction began in 1615 and concluded in 1767, the palace embodies the late-Baroque style and offers a glimpse into the lives of the city's elite. Originally built for Doctor Baliana, the palace later came into the possession of Giuseppe Asmundo, the Marquis of Sessa and Presidente di Giustizia. The palace also served as a refuge for Maria Cristina, daughter of Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies, during her exile from Naples. Inside, visitors can admire frescoes by Gioacchino Martorana and stucco work by followers of Giacomo Serpotta. Today, Palazzo Asmundo is a museum showcasing an eclectic collection amassed by the Martorana family, the present owners. The collection includes Sicilian ceramics, porcelain, maps, postcards, and coins. The palace also hosts events and exhibitions, further enriching Palermo's cultural scene.
