Walking
From the center of Pompeii, head north on Via Villa dei Misteri towards Corso Giuseppe Mazzini. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Via Roma. Turn right onto Via Roma and walk for another 200 meters, where you will find the bus stop for the SITA bus to Mercogliano. Board the bus heading to Mercogliano - Avellino and enjoy the scenic ride for approximately 25 minutes. Once you arrive at the Mercogliano bus station, exit the bus and walk up Via Santuario for about 500 meters. The Sanctuary of Montevergine will be on your left.

From Pompeii, proceed to the SITA bus stop on Via Roma. Catch the SITA bus that travels towards Mercogliano. Ensure you check the schedule for bus timings as they may vary. The bus ride takes approximately 25 minutes. Upon arrival at Mercogliano bus station, walk along Via Santuario for about 500 meters to reach the Sanctuary of Montevergine. It's an easy walk, and you can follow the signs leading to the sanctuary once you are close.

For a more comfortable option, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Pompeii to the Sanctuary of Montevergine. Simply flag down a taxi or use a taxi app if available. The taxi ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. The driver will take you directly to Via Santuario in Mercogliano, where you can easily spot the sanctuary.
