Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the city of Bologna, which is a common point of entry for Romagna. Head west on the A1 highway towards Florence. After about 30 km, take exit 159 for SP569 towards Vergato/Lizzano in Belvedere. Continue on SP569 for approximately 23 km until you reach the town of Lizzano in Belvedere. From Lizzano, follow the signs for SP del Cavone, which will lead you towards Cascate del Dardagna. There is a parking area near the falls, but be aware that it may fill up quickly during peak tourist season. Parking fees may apply, usually around €2-€5 for the day.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a train from Bologna Centrale to Porretta Terme, which takes about 1 hour. From Porretta Terme, you can catch a local bus (line 42) towards Lizzano in Belvedere. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Lizzano in Belvedere, you will need to take a taxi or arrange for a local shuttle service to get to Cascate del Dardagna, as public transportation does not go directly to the falls. Be sure to check the local bus schedules in advance, as they may not run frequently.
Use Cascate del Dardagna as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
