Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from another location in Salento, take the SS16 highway towards Lecce. Follow the signs for Lecce and take the exit for Viale Giuseppe Garibaldi. Continue on Viale Garibaldi until you reach the junction with Via Gorizia. Turn left onto Via Gorizia, and you will find Porta Rudiae located at number 18 on your right. Parking may be available on the street or in nearby public parking areas, which usually cost around €1-2 per hour.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  To reach Porta Rudiae via public transport, locate a local bus service to Lecce. Major towns in Salento, such as Gallipoli or Otranto, provide bus services operated by FSE (Ferrovie del Sud Est). Once you arrive at the Lecce bus terminal, exit towards the city center and walk approximately 15 minutes. Head east on Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, then turn left onto Via Gorizia. Porta Rudiae will be at number 18. The bus fare typically ranges from €5 to €10 depending on your departure point.

  If you are traveling from another city, such as Brindisi or Bari, take a train to Lecce. Upon arrival at Lecce train station, exit and either take a bus or a taxi to Porta Rudiae. • Walking from Lecce City Center

  If you are already in Lecce city center, Porta Rudiae is easily accessible by foot. Start at Piazza Sant'Oronzo and walk east along Via Salvatore Settis. Continue straight until you reach Viale Giuseppe Garibaldi, then turn right. Walk until you reach Via Gorizia and turn left. Porta Rudiae will be located at number 18 on your right. This walk should take approximately 15-20 minutes.
