Spiaggia Libera: A Serene Escape in San Cataldo

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards San Cataldo. From Lecce, take the SS16 towards San Cataldo. Upon arriving in San Cataldo, follow the signs to the beach. Turn onto Viale A. Vespucci, where Spiaggia libera is located. There is usually ample street parking available, but be mindful of any parking regulations. Note that parking may incur a fee, so be prepared with some coins or a parking app.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take the 'Salento in Bus' service from Lecce to San Cataldo. The buses run frequently, especially during the summer months. Depart from the Lecce train station and board the bus headed to San Cataldo. Once you arrive at the San Cataldo bus stop, it's a short walk to Spiaggia libera. Simply head towards Viale A. Vespucci, and the beach will be on your left. Be sure to check the bus schedule for return trips, as they may be limited in the evening.

  If you're feeling adventurous, consider biking to Spiaggia libera. Many bike rental shops are available in Lecce. You can cycle along the coast from Lecce to San Cataldo, which is about 10 km. Follow the coastal road for beautiful views of the Adriatic Sea. Once you reach San Cataldo, head towards Viale A. Vespucci to find the beach. Remember to wear a helmet and follow local cycling regulations.
