Travel Guide to Badia di Passignano

Getting There

• Bus

  From San Gimignano, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located at Piazza della Cisterna. Look for the bus that heads towards Florence. Take the bus to the 'Tavarnelle Val di Pesa' stop (approximately 30 minutes). Once you arrive at Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, transfer to the local bus service that goes to Badia a Passignano. The local bus service frequency may vary, so check the timetable on the bus station. The journey will take around 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Badia a Passignano' stop, and from there, it is a short walk to the Badia di Passignano.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in San Gimignano. Start by heading south on Via San Giovanni, then take the SP1 road towards Tavarnelle Val di Pesa. The distance is approximately 11 kilometers and should take about 40 minutes by bike. Follow the signs for Badia a Passignano. Once you reach the village, look for signs directing you to the abbey, which is located on Via Passignano.

• Walking

  For a scenic walking route, take a hiking trail from San Gimignano to Badia a Passignano. Start at Porta San Giovanni and follow the signs towards the vineyards. The hike is roughly 8 kilometers and will take about 2 hours. The trail will lead you through beautiful Tuscan countryside. Once you reach Badia a Passignano, the abbey is located at Via Passignano, 28.
